It Ends with Us climbs Storytel’s charts post-movie premiere
Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends with Us has seen a resurgence on Storytel following the premiere of the film adaptation. Since the movie's debut in August, there has been a notable spike in demand for the original audiobook.
The film adaptation of It Ends with Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, has driven the novel to trend on Storytel. Based on Colleen Hoover’s acclaimed book about florist Lily and neurosurgeon Ryle, which addresses the issue of domestic violence and is inspired by the author’s own family history, the audiobook has climbed into the top ten on Storytel’s charts in both Finland and Sweden in August.
Searches and listens for the audiobook in Finnish and Swedish have surged significantly this month. It Ends with Us was originally published in 2016, and released as an audiobook in Swedish (Det slutar med oss) 2018 and in Finnish (Se päättyy meihin) 2023.
Another prominent trend in audiobook searches this month is the upcoming U.S. presidential election. Following Kamala Harris’s acceptance of the Democratic nomination for president, searches for her name on Storytel have skyrocketed.
